3. These terms and your statutory rights
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern the sale of products by Woodsleigh Wild Treats to consumers via our website www.woodsleighwildtreats.co.uk. They form a binding contract once your order is accepted in accordance with Section 7.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. In particular, you retain all rights under applicable consumer law, including rights relating to faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods, and the right to cancel certain online purchases.
By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, legally capable of entering into a contract, a UK resident consumer, and not purchasing for business resale or wholesale purposes.
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example where our products, website processes or the law change. The Terms that apply to your order are the Terms in force when you place that order, unless a change is required by law or expressly applies to future subscription renewals after notice has been given.
4. Our products
We sell natural dog treats and chews online. These may include dried animal parts, natural chews, meaty treats and similar long-life snacks. All products are intended for dogs only unless expressly stated otherwise. They are complementary pet food and are not a complete diet.
Our products are sourced from UK suppliers and may be packed into resealable retail bags. We take reasonable steps to ensure our products are labelled in accordance with applicable UK pet food requirements, including ingredients, analytical constituents, feeding guidance, storage instructions, best-before information, batch or lot details, and our business details where required.
Before publication, we recommend confirming the business registration, labelling, batch recording, supplier traceability and recall process that applies to the products and packing process.
5. Product suitability, supervision and responsible feeding
Our treats should be used responsibly and in accordance with the product label and website description. In particular:
-
Choose treats that are appropriate for your dog’s size, age, health and chewing behaviour.
-
Treats are complementary feed only and should be given in moderation as part of a balanced diet.
-
Always provide fresh drinking water.
-
Never leave your dog unattended with a chew or treat. Remove small or broken pieces promptly to reduce choking risk.
-
If your dog is a puppy, elderly, has dental issues, allergies, digestive sensitivities, pancreatitis, choking issues or any medical condition, consult a vet before feeding.
-
Natural products can vary in size, colour, texture, shape and smell. Product photos are illustrative only.
These precautions are provided to promote safe and responsible use. We do not exclude or restrict liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, defective products, fraud, or breach of statutory consumer rights.
6. Allergy and sensitivity warning
Our products may be packed, stored or handled in environments where different animal proteins and ingredients are present. Unless a product is expressly labelled as suitable for a specific allergy or dietary requirement, we cannot guarantee it is free from traces of other proteins or ingredients.
Customers must check the product label before feeding. If you provide allergy or preference information for a subscription box, we will use reasonable efforts to take that information into account, but you remain responsible for checking each product before feeding it to your dog.
7. Product information, labels and natural variation
We aim to ensure product information on our website and packaging is accurate and up to date. Each product page should be read together with the product label supplied with your order.
Because our products are natural, actual sizes, weights, colour and appearance may vary from any photograph, stated average, example count or description. This does not affect your rights if a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
We do not make veterinary, medical or therapeutic claims unless expressly stated and lawfully permitted. Our products are not medical treatments. Always consult your vet for health concerns.
8. Orders and contract formation
To buy from us, place an order on our website. Please check your order carefully before confirming it.
When you place an order, you will receive an email acknowledging that we have received it. This acknowledgement does not mean your order has been accepted. We accept your order and form the contract when we dispatch the goods or expressly confirm acceptance in writing.
If you need to change or cancel an order before dispatch, contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that changes can be made once an order has entered packing or dispatch, but your statutory rights are not affected.
We may refuse or cancel an order before acceptance. Reasons may include product unavailability, an obvious pricing error, payment issues, suspected fraud or inability to deliver to your address. If we cancel or refuse an order after payment, we will refund you promptly.
9. Prices, VAT and payment
All prices are in GBP. The price you pay for a one-off order is the price shown on the website at the time you place the order, unless there is an obvious pricing error.
We are currently not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added and we cannot issue a VAT invoice. If this changes, prices will be shown inclusive of VAT where applicable and our website and Terms will be updated.
Prices include applicable taxes and charges except delivery fees, unless free delivery applies. Delivery costs are shown separately before checkout.
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, which may include major credit or debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. For one-off orders, payment is taken at checkout. For subscriptions, the first payment is taken at signup and renewal payments are taken in accordance with Sections 17 to 20.
If there is an obvious pricing error, for example a missing decimal point, we may cancel the order and refund you. We will try to notify you before doing so where reasonably possible.
Subscription price changes will only apply to future renewals after reasonable notice has been given. Any change will not affect boxes already paid for before the change.
10. Delivery
We deliver only to UK addresses in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
-
Dispatch: We usually dispatch orders within 2 working days, During busy periods such as Christmas, dispatch times may be slightly longer. Any significant delays will be shown on our website, unless a different time frame is stated on the product page or at checkout.
-
Standard delivery: Standard delivery is typically 3 to 5 working days from dispatch, but this is an estimate and not a guarantee.
-
Express delivery: Express delivery is available with price upon request Unless expressly stated as guaranteed, express delivery time frames are estimates only.
-
Free delivery: Free standard delivery applies to orders over £35 and to all subscription orders, unless otherwise stated.
-
Delivery notifications: We will send an email when your order is dispatched, with tracking information where available.
-
Address accuracy: You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. If a parcel is returned because the address supplied was incorrect or incomplete, we may ask you to pay reasonable re-delivery costs.
If delivery is delayed by more than 30 days, you may contact us to cancel the order and receive a refund, unless a longer delivery period was agreed.
11. Delivery problems, lost or damaged parcels
If a delivery problem occurs, please contact us promptly so we can investigate and assist.
-
If a courier confirms that your parcel is lost, we will provide an appropriate remedy in line with consumer law, which may include replacement or refund.
-
If a package arrives damaged, keep the packaging and contact us promptly with details and photographs where possible.
-
We are responsible for the goods until they are delivered to you, or to a person you nominate. Once delivery has taken place, risk passes to you.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.
12. Your cancellation rights for one-off online purchases
For most one-off online purchases, you have a legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. This means you can tell us you wish to cancel within 14 days after the goods are delivered. You do not need to give a reason.
To cancel, you must inform us clearly by email, post or another method we make available before the 14-day period ends.
If you cancel under your statutory cancellation rights, we will refund the price of the goods and the standard delivery charge you paid, if any. If you selected a premium or express delivery option, we are only required to refund the cost of our standard delivery option.
You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods unless they are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, or unless we have agreed to cover return postage.
For health and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns of any food or treat product once its seal has been broken, unless the product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
13. How to return unopened products
To return an unopened product under your cancellation rights:
-
Tell us within 14 days of delivery that you wish to cancel, by emailing woodsleighwild@outlook.com or writing to us.
-
Return the goods to:
Woodsleigh Wild Treats
Egerton Business Centre
The Old Mill House
Deakins Business Park
Egerton, Bolton
BL7 9RP.
within 14 days after telling us you wish to cancel.
-
Pack the goods securely and use a suitable postal service. We recommend keeping proof of postage.
We will refund you without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the day we receive the goods back, or 14 days after you provide evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier.
We may make a deduction from the refund if the value of the goods has been reduced because they have been handled more than necessary to inspect them. Opening or breaking a hygiene seal will mean the goods cannot be returned as a change-of-mind return.
14. Opened, unsealed or used products
For health and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns of any treat, chew or food product that has been opened, unsealed or used. Once the seal is broken, the product will no longer be suitable for resale or safe return.
This does not affect your rights if the product is faulty, damaged, incorrect, unsafe or not as described.
15. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or not-as-described products
Your legal rights for faulty, damaged, incorrect or not-as-described goods remain unaffected.
If a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us promptly at woodsleighwild@outlook.com or 07368634376 with details and photographs where possible.
We will provide the appropriate remedy required by consumer law, which may include a replacement or refund. We will cover reasonable return postage where we ask you to return a faulty or incorrect item.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights if a product is faulty, unsafe, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed.
16. Subscription boxes
Our subscription box service delivers a curated selection of dog treats each month. Each subscription is a monthly rolling subscription with no fixed minimum term, unless a different plan is expressly stated at signup.
-
First box: The first payment is taken at signup and the first box is dispatched in accordance with the dispatch information shown at checkout.
-
Contents: Each box contains assorted natural treats selected for the plan, size or preferences chosen. Contents may vary from month to month.
-
Free standard delivery: Subscription boxes qualify for free standard delivery unless otherwise stated.
-
Dispatch schedule: Subscription boxes are usually dispatched on or around the 1st working day of the month. We will email you when your box is dispatched.
Subscription boxes remain subject to these Terms, including the sections on allergy warnings, product suitability, opened products, returns and faulty goods.
17. Subscription billing and payment
After your first payment at signup, renewal payments will be taken automatically each month on your subscription billing date, which will be shown at signup and in your account where applicable.
We will aim to make the next billing date clear in your account pages and renewal communications. We may send a reminder before each renewal payment.
If the billing date falls on a date that does not exist in a particular month, for example the 31st, payment may be taken on the last day of that month.
If a payment fails, we may retry payment within a reasonable period. If payment cannot be obtained after reasonable attempts, we may pause or cancel the subscription and notify you.
18. Subscription changes, pauses and preferences
You may manage your subscription online via your account where this functionality is available, or by contacting us at woodsleighwild@outlook.com. You may be able to change preferences, pause future deliveries, update delivery details or switch box type, depending on the options available.
Requests should be made at least 48 hours before the next billing date to take effect in that cycle. Changes made after billing may apply to the following cycle if the current box has already entered packing or dispatch.
If you provide dog size, flavour preference, allergy or dietary information, we will use reasonable efforts to take it into account. However, you must still check every product label before feeding because products, suppliers and ingredients may change.
19. Subscription cancellations
You can cancel your subscription at any time, free of charge. There is no minimum term unless a specific subscription plan expressly says otherwise at signup.
If you signed up online, you should be able to cancel online or by contacting us using the details in Section 2. We will not require you to contact us multiple times or go through unnecessary steps to cancel.
To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 48 hours before the next billing date. If you cancel after a renewal payment has been taken but before the box has been dispatched, we will refund that renewal payment. If the box has already been dispatched, your subscription will end after that box and any return will be handled under our returns policy and your statutory rights.
We will send written confirmation of cancellation by email. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for boxes already received unless you have a statutory right to a refund or we agree otherwise.
20. Subscription refunds, returns and cooling-off rights
Your statutory cancellation rights may apply to the first subscription order and to renewal boxes where required by law. Where those rights apply, unopened and sealed products may be returned in accordance with Sections 12 to 14.
Opened, unsealed or used treat products cannot be returned as change-of-mind returns for health and hygiene reasons, unless they are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Faulty, damaged, incorrect or not-as-described items in a subscription box will be handled under Section 15.
21. Subscription substitutions and availability
We aim to provide a varied box and to supply items that are suitable for your selected plan and preferences. If an item is unavailable, we may substitute it with a similar product of equal or greater value where reasonably appropriate.
Where a substitution is significant or may materially affect known allergy or dietary information you have provided, we will take reasonable steps to notify you or avoid that substitution.
You must always check product labels before feeding.
22. Product availability and substitutions for one-off orders
If a product in a one-off order is unavailable after you place your order, we will contact you. You may choose a refund or an alternative product where available. We will not charge you for an unavailable item without your agreement.
23. Storage and use
Store all treats as directed on the label, typically in a cool, dry place. Reseal packaging after opening where the packaging allows. Do not feed treats after the best-before date.
Treats are not human food and should be kept away from children. Do not overfeed. Follow feeding and storage instructions on the label.
24. Product recalls
If we become aware of a safety, quality or labelling issue affecting a product you have purchased, we may contact you using the details provided with your order.
You agree to follow any reasonable recall, disposal or return instructions we provide. This does not affect your statutory rights.
25. Promotions, discounts and free delivery offers
We may offer promotional discounts, codes or free delivery offers from time to time. Each promotion may have its own terms, such as expiry date, minimum order value or product exclusions.
Promotions are applied at checkout and cannot usually be applied retrospectively. Only one discount code may be used per order unless stated otherwise. We may change or withdraw promotions at any time, but this will not affect orders already accepted.
26. Website information and product images
We make reasonable efforts to keep our website accurate, but errors can occur. Product images and descriptions are provided as a guide only, and natural products may vary in size, colour, texture, smell and shape.
If we identify an error in pricing or product information after you order, we will contact you where appropriate and deal with the issue in accordance with your consumer rights.
27. Customer accounts and account security
If you create a customer account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account, unless the activity is caused by our failure to take reasonable care.
Please contact us promptly if you believe your account details have been compromised.
28. Privacy and personal data
We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. These explain what personal data we collect, how we use it, the lawful bases we rely on, how long we keep it, and your rights.
We use personal data to process orders, manage subscriptions, provide customer service, send service messages such as order confirmations and dispatch updates, and comply with legal obligations.
We will not send direct marketing unless we have a lawful basis to do so. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
Non-essential cookies will only be used where required consent has been obtained.
29. Our liability to you
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms, breach of your statutory consumer rights, defective products, or our failure to take reasonable care.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, defective products, or breach of your statutory rights.
We are not responsible for losses caused by your misuse of products, overfeeding, lack of supervision, failure to follow allergy, storage or feeding instructions, use after the best-before date, or alteration of the product, except to the extent the loss is caused by our negligence, breach of duty or breach of consumer law.
Our products are supplied for domestic and private use. We do not accept liability for business losses, including loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption, unless we have agreed separate business terms with you.
30. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, strikes, transport disruption, supplier failure, postal delays, technical outages or other events we could not reasonably avoid.
If such an event affects your order or subscription, we will try to notify you and resume service as soon as reasonably possible. If the delay is substantial, you may cancel the affected order and receive a refund for goods not supplied.
31. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with the date of revision.
For important changes affecting subscriptions, such as pricing, cancellation process or material service changes, we may notify subscribers by email before the change takes effect. Changes will not affect boxes already paid for unless required by law.
32. Complaints

33. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, this does not deprive you of any mandatory rights or protections under the law of the country where you live.
Consumers in Scotland may bring proceedings in Scotland, and consumers in Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in Northern Ireland. Otherwise, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
